John Denver was a superstar artist who was a hit through his songs of pop-folk, many of which were inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr., born Henry John Deutschendorf in Roswell in New Mexico, was in love with Colorado. The place he settled was Aspen. Denver's songs that he sang about his home state drew many tourists to Colorado. There isn't any other performer who embodies Colorado such as John Denver said G. Brown director of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver was the first Hall of Fame ever to be inducted. Today he personifies the state to people around the world. In my journeys, you encounter someone on the other end of the planet, or someone who is from New Zealand and you say "I'm originally from Colorado and the first word that comes that comes out of their mouths is Oh John Denver! Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads written by co-writer Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo performer after a brief stint in small folk bands. Danoff composed the track in the spirit of Johnny Cash, but Denver was able to hear the song's early versions and was aware that it would become a top 10 hit. The song was recorded by the singer within a couple of days following a performance to crowds of enthusiastic fans at Washington D.C.
